Kollegala. Encroachment on the 5th Cross Road of G.P.Mallappapuram Barangay of the town was vacated by the Municipal Council today.
According to the orders of District Collector and Lokyukta, from early morning today, Municipal Councilors under the leadership of Ramesh conducted the evacuation operation using JCB machines.
On this occasion, Paureyukta Ramesh said that it is necessary to move the roads for the benefit of the public and for the cleanliness of the city. Illegal constructions in public places are causing problems for proper use of city roads. Action against such illegality will be continuous in the coming days, he said.
The municipal council has given a clear message that it will not tolerate any illegality that hinders development.
City Council AEE Nataraju, Prasanna, Health Officer Chetan Kumar, Revenue Inspector Ravi Shankar, Nanjundashetti and staff were present in the function. The town police kept tight security to prevent any untoward incident.
