Kollegala. On the occasion of Maharshi Shri Valmiki Jayanti, a grand silver chariot procession was held on Tuesday.
MLA A.R.Krishnamurthy started the procession by offering floral tributes to Valmiki's portrait in the chariot which was decorated in Nayakara Street of the town. Dr. Ambedkar Road, ADB Circle, reached Guru Bhavan through IB Road.

In the procession, youths and leaders danced and cheered to the sound of Viragase Kunita and Dollu, Tamate.

Former minister N. Mahesh, former MLAs G.N. Nanjundaswamy, S. Balaraju, Chamul president Nanjundaswamy, former state president of Uppara Corporation Madhuvanahalli Shivakumar, BJP district vice president Duttesh Kumar, Nayak president Jagadish Nayak and others were present on the occasion.
