Chakollegala. On behalf of Taluk Jai Bheem Farmers' Association, Dr. B.R. Condemning the heinous defacement of Ambedkar's portrait and the idol of Buddha, they staged a protest demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits.
The office bearers of Jai Bhima Raitha Sangh called a meeting on Tuesday in the APMC premises of the town and then proceeded to the Dr. Ambedkar circle through a silent procession and garlanded the statue and then went to the taluk office to arrest the culprits and demand severe punishment. Tahsildar submitted a request to Basavaraju.
Manorakhita Banteji of Jetavan Buddhist Vihara said that such shameful acts are being done with the intention of disturbing the peace and harmony of the society. He demanded that the government take immediate action and give severe punishment to the criminals.
In the protest, senior farmer leaders Angalli Basavaraju, Dr. BR Ambedkar Sangh President Anandamurthy, Secretary Papanna, Jai Bhim Raitha Sangh President Mallaraju, Secretary Murulidhar, senior leaders Angalli Basavaraju, Kemparaju, Chamaraju, Karave (Praveen Shetty Bana) District President Mohan, Secretary Riaz Pasha and Farmer leaders and activists were present.
